The community of Flint, Michigan, is mourning the death of Scott-Bard Mansur, whose passing has left family, friends, colleagues, and fellow musicians heartbroken. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Scott-Bard was known for his remarkable musical talent, vibrant personality, and passion for the arts. A dedicated employee in the Quality Control Final Inspection Process at General Motors, he was equally admired for his love of music, horseback riding, travel, cooking, and gardening.
Scott-Bard studied Voice and Alto Saxophone at Kentucky State University, where he pursued vocal and instrumental music education and performance. His gift for singing earned him a cherished place as one of the premier tenors with The Whitfield Company, where he was also recognised for his distinctive fashion sense and served on the group’s wardrobe committee. In announcing his passing, the ensemble remembered him as someone who loved Thomas Whitfield’s music with unwavering passion and was deeply loved by everyone who had the privilege of performing alongside him.
His cousin, Barbara Doggett, paid a heartfelt tribute, remembering Scott-Bard for his sharp wit, unforgettable sense of humour, honest nature, and enduring love of singing. She shared that those who knew him would miss him more than words could express, adding that she believes he is now “in God’s choir.”
